Unemployment Drops As U.S. Adds 1.8 Million Jobs In July

The U.S. unemployment rate dropped last month as the economy added about 1.8 million jobs, according to the U.S. Labor Department.

The rate dropped from 11.1% in June to 10.2% in July. However, July's job growth was much lower than June, when 4.8 million jobs were added.

The report comes as Congress is debating what to do about the $600-per-week federal unemployment benefits that expired at the end of last month.
