Austin ISD is delaying school under after Labor Day and going online-only until November. The school board voted on the plan early this morning following six hours of debate and public comment.
Outgoing Superintendent Dr. Paul Cruz told the board the changes are being done following talks with Austin Public Health and to make sure the community was safe from coronavirus. The teachers union also pushed for delays in the start of school due to the pandemic.
