DOJ to Direct $35M Towards Housing for Human Trafficking Survivors

The Department of Justice announced Tuesday morning that award $35 million in housing grants to provide housing and services to victims of human trafficking.

The grants will be awarded to 73 non-profits from 33 states across the country and will provide transitional or short term housing, employment aid, job training and counseling to victims.

A senior administration official told CBS News that there is concern in the uptick in human trafficking cases as well as concern for the pandemic's impact on services for human-trafficking victims, adding that the administration "is treating everybody who comes through the door."
