Southeast Texas could eventually feel the impact of some tropical weather that has been developing this week.
The National Weather Service says a tropical wave is creating a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over Cuba, the western Bahamas and southern Florida.
Gradual development is possible over the Gulf of Mexico as it continues to move to the northwest over the next couple of days.
The system could bring heavy rain to parts of the region as early as this weekend.
