UT-Austin is keeping "Eyes of Texas"as its school song, despite calls from some student-athletes to drop it.
The song was performed at minstrel shows by performers in blackface during the early 1900s.
The University of Texas at Austin also announced it will keep its statue of prominent segregationist James Hogg.
But, university officials are making some changes to address racial issues on campus. That includes a detailed plan to increase Black student enrollment and renaming two campus structures.
About a dozen student-athletes recently demanded a list of changes otherwise they would sit out all team activities.
