Election Runoffs Today

The runoff election is scheduled for today. The primary runoffs were originally scheduled for May, but were postponed because of the pandemic. On the Democratic ballot, the most high-profile contest is between M.J. Hegar and Royce West to see which one will run against incumbent GOP U.S. Senator John Cornyn this fall. The Republican ballot includes a runoff between Troy Nehls and Kathaleen Wall for the District 22 seat in the U.S. Congress. Also on the ballot are races for Harris County Sheriff, the Railroad Commission, and a couple of state representative seats.
