Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is asking the United States Supreme Court to declare Obamacare entirely illegal. Paxton filed a brief with the high court on Thursday. In 2017, Congress eliminated the tax penalty for refusing to enroll in Obamacare, thereby invalidating the entire law, Paxton claims. The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals last year ruled the individual mandate was unconstitutional. Paxton points out that the text of the law says the mandate is the centerpiece of Obamacare, so without it, the rest of the law collapses.
