Miss. Church Destroyed By Arson Fire After Challenging COVID Restrictions

Police are investigating a suspected arson after a Mississippi church was burned to the ground - about a month after filing a lawsuit challenging the city's coronavirus restrictions.

First Pentecostal Church in Holly Springs, MS burned down Wednesday. Police say someone spray painted "Bet you stay home now you hypokrites" in the church parking lot.

The church had filed a lawsuit last month after it received a citation for not social distancing during an indoor service.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said he was "heartbroken and furious" by the incident, asking "What is this pandemic doing to us?"
