Austin Public Health: Large Events Doubtful This Year

Austin Public Health does not believe there will be any large events this year. Interim Austin-Travis County Health Authority Dr. Mark Escott says it's doubtful coronavirus mitigation plans will be in place for events of over 25-hundred people. He believes it is more appropriate to focus on social distancing before looking at larger events like Texas Longhorns games and Austin City Limits Music Festival. Escott noted the biggest issue is reminding people things are not back to normal while the pandemic keeps going on.
