Metro Health is reporting 34 new coronavirus cases in Bexar County. Of those, 18 are from the community. 3 from jail, 4 from nursing homes and the remaining are under investigation. There have now been 1,972 cases since the pandemic began. 1,050 people have now fully recovered.
Officials are reporting an additional death, after the death of a nursing home patient in her 80s. There have now been 58 deaths from coronavirus.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg says 547 of the cases are from either nursing homes or the jail. He says he welcomes the governor's call to test all nursing home patients.
