San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg says he and other local leaders are waiting to hear what Governor Greg Abbott says today about further reopening the Texas economy. Abbott announced earlier this month he's been receiving advice from medical experts on how to reopen businesses safely. Nirenberg says he hopes the state will give county and city governments some leeway in implementing policies dealing with restarting the economy. He says the city's decisions will all be based on the public health data.
Governor Abbott is to announce the next step Monday afternoon.
