A Bexar County judge is stepping up her use of remote meeting technology to expedite her court's business. The jury system has been shut down since last month over coronavirus concerns, but a number of judges are conducting remote hearings with the Internet system called Zoom. On Thursday, 226th District Court Judge Velia Meza said she's taken next Monday's docket and spread it over the week. Meza says she aims to get through five to 15 cases a day. So far, she says nobody's complained about her decision.
