There are jobs to be had in San Antonio despite the business shutdowns and layoffs resulting from the pandemic. Workforce Solutions Alamo says Bexar County's unemployment rate rose from just over three-percent in February to just above four-percent in March. San Antonio-based companies, or businesses with local operations, that are hiring for a large number of positions include 7-Eleven, Amazon, Walmart, Christus Health, Methodist Healthcare, San Antonio State Hospital, Rackspace, HEB and Whataburger.
