The CIA has been investigating the spread of COVID-19 in China, trying to find the 'real' virus statistics.
According to a New York Times report, the CIA first warned the White House back in February that China was understating the number of infections.
Investigators say midlevel Chinese officials might be afraid to report the full numbers out of fear they'll be punished or fired. Also, China has reportedly not been tracking asymptomatic virus carriers.
