Texas Health and Human Services is now reporting 1,396 coronavirus cases in the state of Texas, with 18 deaths. There are cases being reported in 92 of the 254 counties. More than 21,000 tests have been completed.
President Donald Trump is approving a Major Disaster Declaration for Texas. Governor Greg Abbott announced the White House's decision on Wednesday, saying it provides the state more money for the fight against coronavirus. Abbott also noted the declaration allows people to apply for individual and public assistance. Abbott asked the president for the declaration earlier this week.
