Hundreds of spring breakers are partying on the beach and in bars on South Padre Island. Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino Junior says the county's recommendations to limit gatherings to 50 people or less still stands. He says if the city doesn't act, the county will. The city council issued a suspension of event permits as of Monday. However, most bar owners facing the beach so far have not closed up shop and the partying goes on.
