House Votes Today On Bill To Curb Tobacco Use Among Teenagers

The House votes today on a bill aimed at curbing tobacco use among teenagers.

That includes vaping. Vape juice contains nicotine and is considered a tobacco product.

The bill would ban flavored tobacco in vape juice, including menthol.

During a Capitol event, Massachusetts Democrat Richard Neal said the bill would impose a federal excise tax on nicotine and vaping products. He said nicotine in vaping products should be viewed the same way as nicotine in combustible cigarettes. Neal chairs the House Ways and Means Committee.
