The state is suing a petrochemical company for environmental violations that resulted from an explosion at its Port Neches plant in November. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed the lawsuit against TPC Group on Friday in Austin. The suit is on behalf of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, which is investigating the explosion and fires at the plant, along with emissions of contaminants that resulted. The state is suing for civil penalties, along with court costs, attorney fees and investigative costs.
