MJ Hegar is widening her lead among the dozen Democrats in the primary to see who gets to challenge GOP Senator John Cornyn this fall. A poll released Monday by UT and the Texas Tribune says the Air Force combat vet has the support of 22-percent of Democrats. The result means she'll likely face one of her March 3rd primary rivals in a runoff in May. None of Hegar's rivals is polling above single-digits, but even as the best-known candidate, she has name recognition among less than a third of the Democrats surveyed.
