Bexar County jail inmate quarantined, claims he was exposed to coronavirus

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says there are no known cases of the novel coronavirus in Bexar County, but the sheriff's department is taking precautionary steps in case anyone they come in contact with has been exposed. Salazar says safety measures are being put in place on how to respond in the event an individual is booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center who may have been exposed.

Salazar says no one has tested positive, however there is one inmate who "claimed" to have been exposed. Salazar says they do not believe the inmate has coronavirus, but is exhibiting flu-like symptoms. As a result, he was tested for coronavirus and moved to a secure cell where he'll be held for at least 14 days or until University Health System clears him.
