Teachers and staff at two low-performing Edgewood ISD schools have to reapply for their existing jobs under a new program. The district is putting into effect a program called Accelerating Campus Excellence, or ACE, at Perales Elementary School and Gus Garcia Middle School this fall. ACE calls for an extra hour of school every day, parent workshops, and family dinners. The program also requires teachers and staff, including the principal and assistant principals, to reapply for their positions.
