City officials are moving ahead with plans to create a residential renters' commission. A city councilman filed a request last summer to create the commission. The city's Governance Committee voted unanimously on Wednesday to advance the request to the Culture and Neighborhood Services Committee. The proposed commission would be made up of renters appointed by City Council members and the mayor. The San Antonio Board of Realtors says the city's Housing Commission could do a better job dealing with renters' issues.
