Russian Government Resigns As Part Of Plan To Keep Putin In Power

Virtually the entire Russian government resigned this week - all part of a plan to keep President Vladimir Putin in power beyond the end of his current term.

Putin has proposed changes to Russia's constitution that would limit the power of the presidency once he leaves office in 2024. Some of that power would shift to Parliament - where Putin could potentially return as prime minister.

Putin is pitching the changes as pro-democracy, but many analysts believe it's a ploy to hang on to power once his term ends.
