The Carolina Panthers are hiring Baylor head coach Matt Rhule to lead their franchise. Rhule is the fifth coach in team history. He led Baylor to an 11-and-3 record this past season, having rebuilt the program after going 1-and-11 in his first season there. Before that, he was at Temple for four years where he led the Owls from a 2-and-10 mark in his first season to a 10-and-3 mark in his final year leading the team. He led both schools to bowl games in his final two years leading those programs. The 40-year-old coach replaces Ron Rivera, who was fired in December.
