Texas Governor Reacts To White Settlement Church Shooting

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is praying for the victims in a deadly church shooting in White Settlement, west of Fort Worth.  A gunman killed two people when he opened fire during a service at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement. Abbott called it an "evil act of violence." Church members reacted and returned fire, killing the gunman. Abbott added that places of worship should be sacred. He also praised the church members who took down the shooter.

Abbott said, "Our hearts go out to the victims and families of those killed in the evil at of violence that occurred at the West Freeway Church of Christ. Places of worship are meant to be sacred, and I am grateful for the church members who acted quickly to take down the shooter and help prevent further loss of life. Cecilia and I ask all Texans to join us in praying for the White Settlement community and for all those affected by this horrible tragedy."
