Court records are revealing more details about the death of an off-duty San Antonio ISD officer who was killed while working security outside a San Antonio IHOP over the weekend.
50-year-old Clifton Martinez was working security at the IHOP in the 7300 block of Hot Wells early Saturday morning when a fight broke out. As he tried to stop the fight, one of the suspects shoved him to the ground and then drove over him in a car. The affidavit says the driver then stopped and drove over Martinez a second time as restaurant customers and employees pleaded for them to stop.
Martinez was a 28-year veterans of the SAISD police force.
Jorge Lopez and Alfredo Martinez-Contreras have been arrested in Martinez' death.
