An ex-North Texas cop is under indictment for murder for the shooting death of a woman inside her own home. A Tarrant County grand jury charged Aaron Dean for the October killing of Atatiana Jefferson. He was at Jefferson's home after a neighbor called Fort Worth police's non-emergency number asking for a welfare check over an open door. Dean was standing in the backyard when he shot and killed Jefferson through a window. He later resigned before Police Chief Ed Kraus could fire him.
