CDC: Flu Season Hits Texas Early

Federal health officials say flu season is off to an early start in Texas and several other states. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says early activity is primarily being reported in the South, involving a strain of the virus that most commonly sickens children and teens. At the end of November, the CDC recorded high levels of flu activity in Texas, as well as in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The agency said flu activity is expected to continue over the next few weeks.
