Preparations are underway for the annual Ford Holiday River Parade will take place in San Antonio on Friday night. The floats are being prepped and put into the river today ahead of the event.
The annual event takes place on the downtown River Walk. The River Walk will be cleared at 4 p.m. and then re-opened at 5 p.m. to parade ticket-holders for access to the River Walk. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and lasts about one hour from when you see the first float. Christmas music will be performed at Arneson River Theater from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the River Walk lighting ceremony taking place at 7 p.m.
The 2019 Grand Marshal is blues-rock vocalist and guitarist Billy Gibbons, best known for ZZ Top.
