Astros fall short, Nationals win World Series

The Washington Nationals are World Series champions for the first time. They beat the Astros 6-2 in Game Seven in Houston. Anthony Rendon and Howie Kendrick both homered in a three-run seventh inning to erase a 2-0 deficit for Washington. Juan Soto added an RBI single in the eighth and Adam Eaton singled in two more in the ninth for the Nats. Patrick Corbin threw three shutout innings to get the win in relief. Will Harris took the loss. Yuli Gurriel homered and Carlos Correa singled in a run for Houston. The road team won all seven games.
