Yankees Power Past Astros To Force Game Six

A first-inning three-run homer from Aaron Hicks was all the fire power the Yankees would need as they beat the Astros 4-1 at Yankee Stadium in Game Five of the ALCS. James Paxton went six innings, giving up just one run on four hits while striking out nine. DJ LeMahieu hit a leadoff homer for his only hit of the game. New York trails three-games-to-two as the series turns to Game Six in Houston Saturday night. Justin Verlander gave up four runs on five hits while striking out nine over seven. George Springer scored on a wild pitch in the first.
