A San Antonio firefighter is dead after being hit by a vehicle at a fire scene. Fire Chief Charles Hood says Greg Garza was killed this morning when a van ran into him outside a downtown hotel at the corner of Live Oak Street and Dawson Street. Garza was helping remove equipment when he was struck. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating.
Chief Charles Hood said Garza was getting out of the fire engine when he tripped or stumbled out of the truck and was hit by the commercial van.
