British and Irish Prime Ministers Work Towards Brexit Deal

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is meeting with Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to discuss avoiding a hard British exit from the European Union. In a joint statement, the two prime ministers discussed the challenges of customs and consent and both agreed that they could see a "pathway" to a possible deal. They also discussed the potential to strengthen bilateral relations, including on Northern Ireland. A crunch EU summit next week is the last chance for the United Kingdom to reach a deal ahead of October 31st deadline.
