San Antonio gas prices have continued to fall since the spike caused by the rebel attack on a Saudi oil field last month, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Triple A Texas reports San Antonio's gas price today averages $2.34, that's down from $2.37 last Thursday, and down from $2.58 on October 3 of 2018.
Since the oilfield attack led to panic buying on the global oil markets, pushing prices higher at the pump, there has not been a repeal of that attack, and market forces, including lower seasonal demand and strong oil inventories, have worked to push prices back down.
“Crude oil prices have dropped close to where they were right before the drone attacks on the Saudi oil facilities,” said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson. “Market analysts anticipate that Texans will continue to see cheaper pump prices in the weeks to come.”
Falling prices are expected to continue as we move into the holidays, as adequate supply of gasoline due to Texas fracking potential lessen the ability of events like the Saudi attack to drastically affect prices.
The cheapest gas in Texas is on the Red River, with Sherman and Denison reporting prices of $2.24. The most expensive gas in Texas is in El Paso, at $2.62.
