A new state law eliminates religious exemptions for vaccination.

A new state law went into effect this morning that eliminates religious exemptions for immunizations for the measles, mumps and rubella vaccines. The parents of unvaccinated students were given a 14-day grace period from the start of the school year to get their children's vaccinations up to date. The law is facing a challenge in the New York Supreme Court.

Unvaccinated students are being turned away from public schools across New York today until they get the mandated shots. A Westchester dad says he had already pulled his kids out of school because he will not let them get shots.
