One day after getting destroyed 15-0, the Athletics retaliated by thumping the Astros 21-7 in Houston. Sean Murphy and Matt Olson each homered twice and drove in four runs for the A's. Khris Davis and Marcus Semien also homered as Oakland banged out 25 hits. Tanner Roark got the win. Wade Miley retired only one batter in a seven-run first inning and took the loss. George Springer and Martin Maldonado both homered twice for Houston, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.
