Couple Spends $120K Deposited into their Account by Mistake

A Pennsylvania couple is in big trouble after going on a spending spree with money that was accidentally deposited into their account. Montoursville residents Robert and Tiffany Williams became the surprise recipients of $120,000 when a teller made an error back in May, Pennsylvania State Police say. But instead of notifying the bank, they began spending like crazy, buying an SUV, a camper, two four-wheelers and other things. They even gave $15,000 to friends. All totaled, they spent $107,000 between June 3rd and June 19th, police say. But now the bank wants it back. At first, the couple reportedly said they'd work out a payment plan, but then they started ghosting bank representatives. So the police got involved, arresting the couple over the weekend on felony theft charges. They've been released on a $25,000 bond.
