Astros Clip Mariners, Verlander Notches MLB-Best 18th Win

Justin Verlander threw seven innings of one-run ball as the Astros clipped the Mariners 2-1 in Houston. Verlander became the first pitcher in the majors to reach 18 wins on the season. Josh Reddick hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the seventh. Alex Bregman added a solo shot in the sixth for the Astros, who have won five of their last six. Dee Gordon tripled in the only run for Seattle. Austin Adams took the loss for the Mariners, who have lost 10 of 12.
