Astros Demolish Rays, Morton

The Astros did not treat former teammate Charlie Morton kindly in his return to Houston. They chased Morton after four innings in a 15-1 rout of Tampa Bay to win their fifth in-a-row. Yordan Alvarez belted two homers and drove in four for the Astros, while Alex Bregman had three hits and scored three runs. Robinson Chirinos contributed a two-run homer. Justin Verlander did not allow a run to pick up his 16th win, but was ejected in the sixth inning by plate umpire Pat Hoberg for arguing balls and strikes. Morton yielded the first six runs to take the loss. Joey Wendle homered for the Rays, who lost their third straight.
