Astros Double Up Tigers

George Springer and Jose Altuve hit back-to-back homers to lead off the Astros' first inning in a 6-3 win over the Tigers in Houston. Altuve had three of the eight Houston hits and drove in two runs. Michael Brantley contributed a two-run double and Martin Maldonado added a solo shot to the win. Astros' starter Aaron Sanchez did not make it through the third inning and is headed for the injured list with a pectoral issue. Houston won its third straight. Victor Reyes homered to lead off the game for Detroit. Miguel Cabrera had two hits and walked with the bases loaded in defeat. Spencer Turnbull gave up five runs in three innings to take the loss. Detroit lost its fourth in a row.
