Texas Airlines Lose Millions Due To Grounding Of 737 Max

An industry analysis says the two major North Texas airlines are taking a beating from the grounding of the Boeing 737 Max jet. In the five months since the jets were grounded, Dallas-based Southwest Airlines has lost three-million passenger seats as a result, according to aviation travel company OAG. Fort Worth-based American Airlines has lost more than two-million seats in that same period. As a result of the grounding, holiday travel this year is expected to be more expensive, with demand likely to be greater than supply.
