Multiple Ice Raids Take Place in Mississippi

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is detaining 680 undocumented immigrants working illegally in Mississippi. Speaking today in Jackson, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi Mike Hurst says ICE conducted raids at several food processing facilities across the state. Hurst says the raids were planned a month ago and search warrants were executed at seven locations in six cities, setting a record for the number of ICE raids in a single state. Companies targeted include Peco foods and poultry producer Koch Foods. Approximately three bus-loads of employees were taken to a military base for processing.
