Rabies Outbreak Reported In Bandera County

Bandera County officials are warning residents of a growing number of rabies cases. Dr. Conrad Nightingale, the county rabies control officer, says there have been seven confirmed cases in the past two months. He notes there have been about a dozen calls concerning animals that may have rabies but haven't been tested. Nightingale says he suspects there are a large number of unconfirmed cases, and points out that the Texas Department of Health is finding a lot of rabid animals in the area. He advises people to vaccinate their pets and livestock and don't feed strange animals.
