Trump Confirms He Called Off Iran Airstrikes 10 Minutes Before Launches

President Trump confirms that he called off airstrikes against three sites in Iran just ten minutes before the scheduled launches. Trump tweeted today that the U.S. was "cocked and loaded" after Iran shot down an unmanned U.S. military drone. He said he called off the strikes because they were "not proportionate" to the drone attack. Trump also noted that he was told 150 people in Iran would die. He said he is in no hurry and insisted that Iran will never be allowed to have nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, Iran is reportedly saying it refrained from shooting down a U.S. Navy plane with 35 people aboard. The plane was near the U.S. military drone that Iran shot down over the Strait of Hormuz this week. Iran claims the P-8 plane and the drone were in Iranian airspace. U.S. officials insist that the drone was in international airspace.
