Reds Slip Past Astros 4-3

Jesse Winker homered to lead off the first inning and the Reds went on to beat the Astros 4-3 in Cincinnati. Derek Dietrich added a two-run blast later in the first, while Kyle Farmer's solo shot in the seventh proved to be the difference for the Reds. Anthony DeSclafani pitched one-run ball into the sixth inning for the victory, Cincy's third straight. Michael Lorenzen close it out for his fourth save. Alex Bregman belted a two-run homer in the eighth for Houston, which will try to avoid the three-game sweep on Wednesday. Justin Verlander yielded four runs in seven frames as he fell to 9-and-3.
