Galveston paints rainbow crosswalks

The city of Galveston is using private donations to paint "rainbow" crosswalks in what the community says is an effort to show "Galveston is a welcoming community to all." The project was "privately-funded," the post stated. "No city funds or labor are being used toward the crosswalk." No city funds were reportedly used in the project.

Officials say the crosswalks at 25th and Ball and 25th and Sealy streets have been painted to celebrate LGBT Pride Month.
