Astros Use Big First To Beat Mariners

The Astros scored three runs in the first inning and held off the Mariners 4-2 in Seattle. Josh Reddick had an RBI triple and Robinson Chirinos hit a solo homer to punctuate the frame. Framber Valdez picked up the win in relief, giving up no runs in four innings of work. Ryan Pressly earned his third save, lowing his ERA to 0.64. Houston has won four straight and 11-of-12. Mallex Smith and Edwin Encarnacion homered in the third for Seattle. Opener Cory Gearrin gave up three runs in an inning of work to take the loss. Wade LeBlanc allowed just one run over the final eight for the M's.
