Slight Risk of Isolated to Scattered Severe Storms Tonight

Timing and Area of Concern:

Primarily Hill Country, Central Texas, and Austin Metro area between 9PM-3AM tonight.

Threats & Impacts:

  • Winds: Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph possible
  • Hail: Up to golfball sized
  • Rainfall: Where storms occuracross Hill Country, Central Texas, and Austin Metro 1/4"-1/2", with isolated amounts up to 1". Elsewhere less than 1/4"

Timing and Overview:

A weak cold front is forecast to move into portions of the Hill Country and Central Texas late this evening and overnight. Scattered showers and storms are forecast to develop along the front. There is a slight risk a few storms could become severe, with large hail and damaging wind gusts the primary threats. While the Slight Risk for severe storms does extend as far south as San Antonio, the better potential for severe storms is expected to occur across portions of the Hill Country and Central Texas, including the Austin metro area.
