Senate Moves 'Save Chick-Fil-A' Bill

Since the "Save Chick-fil-A" bill died in the Texas House last week, the Senate is taking steps to revive it. On Monday, the bill moved ahead with swift committee approval. The bill would ban local governments from punishing people or businesses because of their membership in a religious organization, or donations to faith-based groups. The bill is in response to the San Antonio City Council's rejection of Chick-fil-A as a vendor at the city airport because of the company's donations to faith-based groups that support only heterosexual marriage.
