President Trump visits San Antonio

President Trump is promoting American energy during a trip to San Antonio today, in addition to voicing concerns about the border. During the trip, Trump unveiled executive orders aimed at expanding the production of U.S. oil and natural gas. The White House says actions will be looking to streamline the approval of permits for pipelines.

Trump signed two executive actions designed to cut red tape to streamline the approval of pipelines. Trump said energy infrastructure is being held back by special interest groups and bureaucracies. The orders limit state's rights to delay construction of pipelines under the Clean Water Act. They are the latest actions by the Trump administration to ease regulations on the oil industry.

President Trump said illegal immigrants are dying after crossing the border into the U.S. During a roundtable discussion with supporters in San Antonio today, Trump said he's hearing incredible stories about dangerous criminals threatening border area residents. He noted that local residents are finding bodies all over their fields, including some pregnant women. Trump said he may have to boost the U.S. military presence at the border.

In addition to the San Antonio visit, the President also visited Houston.
